Kenyan–New Zealander Muroki has emerged as one of Aotearoa’s most distinctive young artists, blending indie, soul, reggae-fusion and groove into a sound that has earned him a growing audience across Australasia and Europe. He was recently named as one of Rolling Stone’s Future of Music Artists for 2026.

His Platinum single “Wavy” and the Triple J favourite “Love Cocoon” featuring BENEE introduced his warm, genre-fluid songwriting to audiences on both sides of the Tasman. Collaborations with artists LEISURE, Nasaya and Young Franco, and his acclaimed Triple J Like A Version performance of Tame Impala’s “Borderline” showcased his versatility as both a vocalist and interpreter.

Muroki’s debut album Amber Skies, released in January 2026, marked a defining moment in his career. Produced primarily by Djeisan Suskov, with additional production from Justyn Pilbrow and Josh Fountain, the record blends soulful songwriting with laid-back groove and reflects an artist confidently finding his own voice.

Following the album’s release, Muroki played sold-out headline shows across New Zealand, Australia and London, made his debut at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, and now continues to build his European audience with upcoming performances alongside Nectar Woode and Tash Sultana. 

Relocating from Berlin to London, Muroki is beginning an exciting new chapter, writing and recording new music while expanding that international touring footprint. With new releases planned for the Aotearoa summer, he is establishing himself as one of New Zealand’s most compelling emerging artists on the global stage.
